High School Weekly Happenings 1.24.2011 - 1.28.2011

Weekly Happenings:  The Weekly Happenings will go out on Fridays from this point on.

Headmaster’s Breakfast:  All 7th-12th graders who made all A’s the 2nd nine weeks are invited to attend the Headmaster’s Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 27th at LCHS.

Rummage Sale Collection:  St. John’s Day School is hosting a rummage sale to help support Lee Wade and her family.  Lee is courageously fighting cancer.  She and her husband, Lane, have a 3rd grader and a 5th grader at St. John’s Day School and a 9th grader here at LCHS.  Donations may be dropped off at St. John’s Day School Gymnasium.  For additional information you may contact Stacey Byrd at 601-433-3551 or staceybyrd@bellsouth.net.   Thank you for your support!

Lunch Plates for Rummage Sale:  The 9th grade students will be selling lunch plates (Barbecue sandwiches) at the Rummage Sale.  The cost is $5 and all proceeds will go to help the Wade family.  If you would like to order a plate ahead of time please call Debbie Fields at the High School office. 

Re-enrollment:  Please be sure to return your re-enrollment forms as soon as possible to ensure your child’s placement next year.  New student applications will be available to the public beginning February 1st.

Box Tops for Education:  Please send in your empty ink cartridges and Box Tops for Education to help with the purchase of new materials for the Library.  Thank you!

Boys Home Soccer Game against Columbia Academy 3:00
*Seniors will be recognized during half-time!*
(Players dismissed from school at 2:00 - Wear white/bring blue)
6:00 Baseball Practice at Hosey Field

January 24th-29th:
JV Basketball Tournament at Lamar Christian
Games will be on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Thursday, January 27th:
5:45 Baseball Practice at Spike’s Sandlot in Ellisville

Tennis team:   Patrick Tibbs will hold a tennis class for anyone interested in being a part of the tennis team.  The next tennis class will be Friday, January 28th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for $10.  You may reach Coach Tibbs at 601-580-1336 if you have any questions.
Karate Class:  Luke Hammonds teaches a Shotokan Martial Art class every Monday night at 6:30 in the LCHS gym.   You may email him at hammondskarate@yahoo.com for more information.
