Elementary Weekly Happenings 12.12.11 - 12.16.11

Prepayment of 2nd Semester is past due.  Please make arrangements with the office.
Kid’s Café:  Make sure you have turned in your January Lunch Forms.  
Extended Care:  There will be NO Extended Care on Tuesday, December 13, due to the Faculty and Staff Christmas Party.
Christmas Chapel:  Kindergarteners will be singing Christmas songs in chapel on Wednesday, December 14, at 8:15 am, in the sanctuary.  Kindergarteners are asked to wear Christmas attire.  Family and friends are invited.  Kindergarteners may leave after the program or they may return to class for a regular school day.
Thursday, December 15:  K-5 will make gingerbread houses at 9:15 in the cafeteria.
Thursday, December 15:  1/2 Day.  PLEASE NOTE:  EXTENDED CARE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR REGULAR USERS!
Christmas Holiday:  We will be out of school December 16 - January 2.  We will return to school on Tuesday, January 3. 
Energy Drinks:  Please note that students should only bring soft drinks, water, or fruit juices.  High Energy Drinks such as Monster, Red Bull, etc. are not allowed.

Preschool Weekly Happenings 12.12.11- 12.16.11

Christmas Project:  Please send in $5.00 for students at Mason Elementary in need for Christmas.  If you have any questions please contact Amy Walker at 601-498-6887.
Second semester Pre-Pay tuition:  Pre-pay tuition for next semester is past due. Please send in payments ASAP.

K4 Immunization Forms are PAST DUE:  Please send in your child’s Certificate of Immunization Compliance (Form 121).  Forms must be signed by the District Health Officer, a physician, or a nurse.  Please send an Original Copy only; no photocopies.  All forms MUST BE turned in to the Preschool Office ASAP.
Christmas Break:  There will be NO School & No Extended Care on Friday, December 16th through Monday, January 2nd.  We will return to school on Tuesday, January 3rd.
Winter change of clothes:  Please be sure that your child has a warm change of clothes at school for cold weather.  Please label all items and place in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name.

Harvest Festival:  Thank you to our LCS families for all your time, effort and hard work that helped make the Harvest Festival such a success and so much fun!  
Food Drive:  Thank you to everyone who so generously donated canned food items!
The Booster Club would like to thank everyone for the huge support we received at the Harvest Festival.  Thanks to all who bought and served food.  Special thanks to Ronald and Meg Eason for providing the food.  
Note from the Library: Thank you for your support.  The library had over $400.00 from the Box Tops for Education program.  Look for new books in all three libraries soon. Keep collecting the Box Tops for our Spring Deadline.

Harvest Festival:  Thank you to all who participated in the canned food drive and the LCS Annual Harvest Festival.  
K4 Immunization Forms:  Please send in your child’s Certificate of Immunization Compliance (Form 121).  Forms must be signed by the District Health Officer, a physician, or a nurse.  Please send an Original Copy only; no photocopies.  All forms MUST BE turned in by November 16, 2011 to the Preschool Office.
Thanksgiving Parties:  Each class will have feast for students on Wednesday, November 16thThe K3 Students will have their Feast from 8:45-9:15 am.  The K4 Students will have their Feast from 9:30-10:15 am.  
There will be NO EXTENDED CARE on Friday, November 18th due to the beginning of our Thanksgiving Break.

Friday, November 4: Due to Harvest Festival clean up there will be NO SCHOOL and NO EXTENDED CARE.   
Booster Club will have extra food plates available to purchase at Harvest Festival Family Night.              
Pre-ordered Harvest Festival Armbands:  Remember to wear them Thursday Night!
Harvest Festival Family Night:  Thursday, November 3, beginning at 5:00.

Harvest Festival Dress Up Days are as follows:
  • Monday, October 31:  Red, White and Blue Day. (you may wear jeans)

  • Wednesday, November 2:  50’s Day. Go back in time to the 1950’s. Wear poodle skirts, bobby socks and saddle oxfords, or blue jeans, white t-shirts and penny loafers, etc. The Sock Hop will be Wednesday morning. 
  • Thursday, November 3:  Occupation Day.  
Singing Schedule:  All K3 – 8th Graders will perform at Harvest Festival Family Night in the parking lot.  Please have your child there 10 minutes before their performance time.  Please have K3 thru 6th grades wear their 2011 Harvest Festival T-shirt or any LCS shirt with jeans or khakis for the singing program.
