High School Weekly Happenings 11.29.2010 - 12.2.2010

No School:  We will not have school on Friday, December 3rd due to the MPSEA teacher meeting.
Student Council & Honor Society:  The November Service Project will be to decorate Christmas ornaments for the Comfort Care Nursing Home on Tuesday, November 30th from 3:30-4:30.  Students were to sign up with Mrs. Yoder or Mrs. Crager.
USM Representative:  On Wednesday, December 1st a representative from USM will be here at 10:30 to speak with any Juniors and Seniors interested in USM.

Basketball players:  Be sure to turn in your sponsorship forms and money ASAP to Coach Slaughter.
Tennis team:   All students wishing to be on the tennis team may practice with Coach Patrick Tibbs on Fridays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for $10 a lesson.  You may reach Coach Tibbs at 601-580-1336.
Karate Class:  Luke Hammonds teaches a Shotokan Martial Art class every Monday night at 6:30 in the LCHS gym.   You may email him at hammondskarate@yahoo.com for more information.

Tuesday, December 14th will be a full day of school.  
Sixth period will be a study hall, and the 7th period exam will be given during 7th period.

Elementary Weekly Happenings 11.29.2010 - 12.2.2010

Peewee BasketballThe next game is an away game at Sacred Heart, Saturday, December 11, at 1:00.
Girls Peewee Basketball Practice: Wednesday, December 1, at Plainway Baptist Church, 3:30-4:30.  Also, next Friday, December 10, at Plainway Baptist Church, 3:30-5:00.

Boys Peewee Basketball Practice:  TBA

Prepayment of 2nd Semester is due Wednesday, December 1.  

Friday, December 3:  Due to a MAISEA District Teacher Meeting there will be No School and No Extended Care.
Christmas Chapel:  4th, 5th, and 6th graders will be singing Christmas songs in Chapel, on Wednesday, December 1st, at 8:10 am, in the sanctuary.   1st, 2nd and 3rd graders will be singing Christmas songs in chapel on Wednesday, December 8th, at 8:10 am, in the sanctuary.  Students are asked to wear a Christmas colored top and their uniform bottoms.  The top may be a solid color or Christmas motif. Everyone is invited.

Annual LCS Players Talent Show:  5th and 6th graders, Thursday, December 9th, after school, in the cafeteria.  Entry Forms will be sent home this week.  To participate:  You must turn in your entry form by 8am, Thursday, December 9.  (Extra forms will be available in the office.)  4th Grade Drama Club is invited to attend. 

4th Grade Drama Club will not have a separate meeting this month.  They are invited to attend the 5th and 6th Grade Talent Show instead.  4th Grade Drama Club Members will have their talent show in February.

Preschool Weekly Happenings 11.29.2010 - 12.2.2010

No School & No Extended Care:   There will be No School and No Extended Care this Friday, December 3rd, due to the Mississippi Private School District Teacher meeting.

Extended Care:  December Payments for Extended Care are due this Wednesday, December 1st.  Please send in payments ASAP.
**Second semester tuition is due by Wednesday, December 1st.**
December tuition:  December tuition is due by December 5th.  Please make payments ASAP.
Christmas Parties:  The Preschool will have their Christmas Parties on Friday, December 17th at 10:00 am.  We will have regular dismissal at 11:30 am, but children have permission to leave after the parties with parents who attend.  There will be NO EXTENDED CARE available that day due to the beginning of the Christmas Holidays.
Christmas Break: We will be out of school for Christmas break beginning Monday, December 20th through Monday, January 3rdWe will return to school on Tuesday, January 4th. 
Medication:  If your child is sick, please do not send him or her to school.  Please be sure that your child is free of fever for 24 hours before returning to school.  If your child requires medication during the day, please send in an appropriate, labeled container with instructions and permission to administer medication to your child. 
Cooler weather is here:  Please send your child a warm change of clothing to school in a zip lock bag, marked with your child’s name.  Thank you.
Please be sure to label all jackets, lunchboxes, etc. with your child’s name.

High School Weekly Happenings 11.15.2010 - 11.19.2010

Lunch Forms:  December lunch forms are due Wednesday, November 17th by 3:00.

Early Dismissals:  All Students will be dismissed at 2:30 on Thursday, November 18th due to the 3:00 basketball game.  Students will also be dismissed at 11:45 on Friday, November 19th due to the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday.

Thanksgiving:  We will be out of school on Monday, November 22nd-Friday, November 26th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Speech & Debate

Congratulations to Alex Hendry for qualifying to attend the 2011 National Forensic League National Tournament in Dallas, Texas, in June.  She won one of three House of Representatives slots in Congressional Debate at the Mississippi District Qualifiers this past weekend in Jackson.

Peewee Basketball:  Home game today against Heidelberg Academy.  Monday, November 15.  Girls play at 5:00. Boys play at 6:00.
No Girls or Boys Peewee Basketball Practice this week.

Drama Club:  4th grade Drama Club will meet Tuesday, November 16, after school till 4:00.  Please be prompt in picking up your child at 4:00.  Thank you to Mrs. Brenda Broadhead for bringing snacks last time. If you would like to bring snacks please contact Mrs. Morgan at 601-649-1880.

Friday, November 19, will be a ½ day.  There will be no Extended Care that day.

Preschool Weekly Happenings 11.15.2010 - 11.19.2010

Preschool Christmas Mission:  The Preschool will be sending items to our soldiers in Afghanistan.  Please send $3.00 or a donation to purchase items by Friday, November 19th.  You may also send in socks, underwear, blankets, etc.  Thank you for your participation.
Thanksgiving Parties:  Each class will have a feast for the students on Friday, November 19th.   The K3 Students will have their feast and playtime from 9:00-10:00 am.  The K4 Students will have their feast and playtime from 10:00-11:00 am.  School will be dismissed at 11:30 am.  
**There will be NO EXTENDED CARE on Friday, November 19th due to the beginning of our Thanksgiving Break.
