High School Weekly Happenings 10.4.2010 - 10.8.2010

Early Dismissal Tuesday:  All High School students will be dismissed Tuesday at 2:30 due to the Lady Lions Soccer Playoff Game.  Please come to the Sportsplex at 3:00 and support your team!

Student Parking:  Students must have a parking permit hanging from their rearview mirror if parking in the school lot.  If a student vehicle does not have a parking permit it will be ticketed and the student will owe the office $2.  Please also remember to only park in the spaces reserved for LCHS students.  If you are not sure which spaces are for student use you may check the sign hanging in the office.  Students also will not be allowed to go to their car until the end of the day. 

Karate Class:  On Monday, October 4, LCS will hold its first karate class.  The style of martial art will be Shotokan.  The class will meet every Monday at 6:30 in the LCHS gym.  All students ages 8 and up are welcome.  The monthly fee is $40 per student.  For more information email Luke Hammonds at hammondskarate@yahoo.com.

Junior/Senior Breakfast:  Our annual Jr/Sr Breakfast is scheduled for this Thursday, October 7th at 7:15 a.m. in the High School Gym.  Our guest speaker will be Mr. Romney Entrekin.  All 7th -10th graders will need to enter through the middle set of doors and wait in the worship center until the first bell on that day.

Chapel Guest Speaker:  The Center for Pregnancy Choices (CPC) is bringing abortion survivor, Gianna Jessen ,to speak in chapel this Friday.  You may visit her website www.giannajessen.com to learn about her ministry.

PSAT:  The PSAT will be administered to all Juniors on October 13th.

Student Council & Honor Society Project:  Please bring crayons and/or coloring books to be donated to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.  Donation boxes are located in Mrs. Crager’s and Mrs. Burchfield’s room, in addition to the office.  We will receive donations through October 15th.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes:  FCA will meet this Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. in the worship center.

Business Advertisements for Swim Meet:  If you wish to have your business advertised at this years state swim meet you can place your logo on the swim heat sheets for $50.  Please contact Coach Lesley Slaughter or Ron Eason for details.  Checks should be made payable to LCS.

Tennis team:  Coach Tibbs will not have tennis practice this Friday.  All students wishing to be on the tennis team may practice with Coach Patrick Tibbs on Fridays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for $10 a lesson.  Please call (601-580-1336) or email (ptibbs006@yahoo.com) Coach Tibbs to register your child. 

MAIS Swim Meet:  LCS is hosting the MAIS swim meet this Wednesday, October 6th.  Several students have volunteered to work part of that day and will receive a full day of excused absence.  Please check the list below to see if your student volunteered to work.
