Elementary Weekly Happenings 4.23.12 - 4.27.12

Field Day:  Friday, April 27.  This will be a half-day.  All kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:00.  All 1st - 6th grades will be dismissed after the games are over at 11:30. Extended Care will be available for regular users.  If you have a canopy that could be used as a shade area, please contact your child’s teacher.  Please bring your own jump rope for the jump rope competition.  Be sure to wear your field day t-shirt and jeans or khaki shorts.  Be sure and wear your tennis shoes.  Please do not wear sandals or flip-flops!

Art Students:  DAY IN THE PARK is coming up May 5.  Any student wishing to enter artwork may enter up to 2 works at the cost of $2.00 each.  Artwork needs to be mounted on poster board or mat board (no framed works) and brought to Mrs. Ishee no later than May 2, so she can get them turned in for judging.  Also, any Laurel Arts League or MAIS district winners' entries may be entered.  Also, any previous artwork done at school or home may be entered.  

Spring Program:  Please have your child wear a spring colored top (no motif please) and uniform bottoms.  Girls may wear a spring dress.  Parents, grandparents, family members and friends are invited to attend.  

Wednesday, April 25………4^th, 5^th, and 6^th Grade Spring Program, 8:10 am, Sanctuary

Animal Rescue League:  The Laurel Christian High School 2012 Senior Service Project is a Food Drive for the ARL.  They will also be working at the shelter.  Donation Bins have been placed at the elementary and high school campuses.  Please place donated food items in this bin before Wednesday morning, April 25.  The bin is only half full. Please make your donation by Wednesday morning. Thank You!

Parents if you want to park and walk your child into school be sure to use the parking spaces facing Audubon Drive rather than the parking spaces across from the carpool drop-off.  This is for the safety of our children. 

AR:  All AR testing needs to be completed by April 27, 2012.

Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair will begin on April 30 - May 4.

Muffins with Mom:  The Preschool will have Muffins with Mom on Friday, May 4, 2012.  More information regarding this event will be given in the coming week.

Preschool Fun Day:  Our end-of-the-year fun day will be on Friday, May 11, 2012.  Mark your calendars.

Preschool Last Day of School:  The preschool campus last day of school is on Wednesday, May 16, 2012.

Carpool Reminder:  Just a friendly reminder that students should be picked up in carpool line.  Students who need to leave early must be picked up by 11:10.  If you pick your child up after 11:10; you must get in the carpool line.  

May tuition is due by May 5th.  Please remit payments by the due date.

Extended Care:  May Extended Care Payments are due on May 1st.  Please remit payments by the due date.

Kid’s Café:  Make sure you have turned your May Lunch Forms in.

LCS Players: 1^st Dress Rehearsal for LCS Players will be Tuesday, April 17, after lunch.  Please bring everything you will need for the performance to school on Tuesday.

Preschool Program:  The Preschool will have a Music Program this Friday, April 20, 2012.  The K3 program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the K4 program will begin at 9:30 a.m.  Please note the dress for the program listed below:

"Day in the Park Training":  Due to Monday, April 9, being a Holiday, the make-up day for 

"Day in the Park Training" will be Thursday, April 12.  Regular Monday, and Wednesday schedule will resume next week.

Elementary Weekly Happenings 4.2.12 - 4.5.12

Spring Pictures will be taken Tuesday, April 3^rd.  Class pictures will be taken at this time.  Individual pictures will also be available. Please have your child wear their cobalt blue uniform shirt.  Order forms were sent home earlier this month.  Extra forms are available in the office.

Headmaster's Breakfast:  If your child earned Headmaster's List (All A's and all E's or S's in Citizenship) they are invited to attend the Headmaster's Breakfast, Wednesday, April 4th, at 7:30 am, in the cafeteria. 

Thursday, April 5th:  1/2 Day.   Extended Care will be available.  

Friday, April 6th:  No School in observance of Good Friday.

Monday, April 9th:  No School in observance of the Easter Holiday.

Easter Holiday:  There will be NO SCHOOL and NO EXTENDED CARE for the Easter Holiday on Friday, April 6, 2012 and Monday, April 9, 2012.  

Easter Parties:  The Preschool will have Easter Parties on Wednesday, April 4^th.  The K3 Parties will begin at 10:00 a.m.; the K4 Parties will begin at 10:30 a.m.  Each student needs to bring an Easter basket with 12 candy filled eggs to school that day.
